New album(s), collab with Mogwai, live shows ++
I believe it’s been more than two years since my last newsletter, and with all the stuff happening with the new album I felt it suitable – right about now – to drop a line to my favourite Skyheads!
It’s actually quite a backstory, but to keep it brief: After three years in the making, I defied my long-standing fear of flying (haven’t been in the air for almost a decade) to reach Glasgow, record guitars with Mogwai, and mix TWO GS albums in Chem19! Went back home, founded a band to start performing GIANTSKY live, premixed the album at the hospital (almost) while my girlfriend gave birth to our twin boys, and lived through a generally intense last year and a half. Circumstance has definitely etched this album into my own timeline. Check out more in this video from my trip to Glasgow!
And here is a private link to a video from our show at the Ladehammer festival 2026, where we – among other songs – performed The Further We Go The Deeper It Gets (exclusive for all you lovely email subscribers!):

Then for the content of the album, and its format:
It is always a struggle with these things, and this time was no different. As inspiration grew, so did the album’s running time.
I realised I couldn’t fit all the tracks within the LP’s side A & B, and I had decided beforehand to avoid the overwhelm of the double album format, whilst also let this be the third and final piece of the trilogy. The solution was to split the material into GS3 & GS3 pt.2 – The Further We Go The Deeper It Gets. This gives some air and space between the tracks, sides and albums, whilst maintaining the feel of an overarching story, conclusively ending on the final stroke of the latter album. Siblings with one soul.
Pt.2 (TFWGTDIG) is set to release a month or so after its bigger sister and main attraction (GS3), and should be considered as the defining epilogue. However, for the vinyl geeks out there (of whom I am one) there are approx. 230 limited GSIII’s Deluxe packages scheduled, that will contain both albums. These packages – containing 2 x vinyls, digital downloads, prints and more – will be available upon release day.
Still, both albums will be available in full within a month from initial release. Hope that makes sense. Burnt in the past, I have learned that the double album could be a bit much to take in.
If you are wondering what the artwork looks like, these are the print files I sent off to Record Industry in The Netherlands:

Following the visual cues from its predecessors, the artwork for GSIII is dreamy, lo-fi/hi fi, and most importantly NO AI! Onion Man is still hand-drawn, and it is all self-made – by myself. Same goes for TFWGTDIG. Side note #2: I have scanned all my hand drawn illustrations from the last 7 years, and made a 24-page colouring book out of it! Texture, cardboard, jittery.. lovely! This too will be part of the deluxe package that is set to release on October 2nd, 2026.

What sound to expect?
As many of you might recall, and even pitched in on, I had a GoFundMe campaign goin’ a while back. Thanks to many of you, it reached its target, and I was able to hire a small string section to take care of the orchestral parts on the album. These guys (and girls) were pros from the municipal symphonic orchestra, and left no mistakes.
In addition to this, the album is filled with songs that you might recognise as giantsky-esque, but also contains tracks that will leave you a bit surprised. It is dynamic, soft, brutal, fun and melancholic – all at once! With a total of 80 minutes, the two albums should give you something to dive into for quite some time. As a side note #3: I really enjoyed making the album, no “the suffering artist” this time 😀 It was hard work getting it across the finishing line, make no mistake, but I enjoyed it. Check out this video from the process, dating back to March 2024
